Arts in Idyllwild – Creativity Abounds

Since it’s summer and we love the outdoors, we’ve been posting a lot of nature-related activities and ideas for people staying in Idyllwild vacation rentals. So in the interest of balance, let’s switch gears. In addition to some gorgeous landscapes, Idyllwild also boasts a thriving arts scene, some of it inspired by the landscapes themselves—a nice pairing.

The Art Alliance of Idyllwild brings artists together to promote each other’s work. On their site, they provide a great guide to over a dozen local galleries, highlighting everything from the Kenario gallery’s mixed media photography and the Courtyard Gallery’s contemporary ceramics and more to regional landscapes at the Quiet Creek Living Room Gallery and outdoor sculpture at Dore’s Mountain Art Garden.

One of the most popular galleries in Idyllwild is the award-winning Idyllwild Gallery of Fine Art. The gallery boasts a fantastic collection of various mediums, much of it quite modern, and does a great job of profiling the local artists whose work is displayed there.

Enjoying Idyllwild’s many art galleries is a nice way to get out and about without doing anything physically taxing. They’re also a nice change of pace after a couple days spent fishing and hiking.
